Three plates in red, and the Touareg (2002-2006) stops being the vehicle you have to nurse over every obstacle. The set covers the engine, the gearbox and the transfer case — every vulnerable part of the drivetrain, from the radiators and the front axle back to the transfer case — and together the plates form full, stable protection for the underside of the car.

The plates are made from 4 mm structural steel, shot-blasted and powder-coated over a class 5 anti-corrosion primer with a textured top coat. They mount in the factory holes in the vehicle using bolts and rivet nuts. The many openings let the mud drain away, make cleaning easier and keep the drivetrain components from overheating.
