Full drivetrain armour does not have to be heavy. The aluminium set of three skid plates — engine, gearbox and transfer case — for the Porsche Cayenne 955 2002-2006 comes to approx. 15.1 kg in total, and gives all the key components steady protection once you leave the tarmac.

The plates are made from 6 mm structural aluminium sheet and mount into the vehicle's factory holes using bolts and rivet nuts. Numerous openings let mud drain away, make cleaning easier and keep the drivetrain components from overheating.
