APEX CRS JLU Roll Cage and Universal Vertical Mounting Bracket
An APEX bracket for mounting the Compact Reel System reel on a Jeep Wrangler JLU cage. The manufacturer notes it works with a hardtop only - with the factory soft top the bracket does not fit. The same part can be used universally as a vertical mount for the CRS reel elsewhere.
APEX CRS JLU Roll Cage and Universal Vertical Mounting Bracket
In a JLU the CRS reel belongs in one particular place: on the cage, where it takes no load space and stays within reach.
This bracket makes that a ready-made installation. Fitting it to the roll cage in a JL or JLU does mean working on the factory trim panel, though, and mounting it vertically elsewhere means drilling two holes; details below.

Installation and notes
The bracket works with a hardtop only. The manufacturer does not list it for the factory soft top. The Compact Reel System reel and chucks are sold separately. The manufacturer provides installation instructions.
What the manufacturer says about fitting
The instructions linked from the manufacturer page give two things the page itself does not.
Mounting to the roll cage in a JL or JLU requires cutting a section of the factory trim panel. The manufacturer walks through it: measure, cut with a sharp razor blade along a straight edge on both sides, lightly and several times, then bend down 45 degrees at the halfway point and finish the cut.
Mounting it vertically anywhere else requires drilling two 9 mm (5/16 inch) holes. The bolt hole span is 3.94 inches, or 100 mm — the one figure you need to plan an installation in something other than a Jeep.
Torque and fasteners: four M6x1.0 screws 16 mm long at 5 ft-lbs and two M8x1.25 screws 25 mm long at 10 ft-lbs, fitted with a 5 mm hex key.
